First gaining recognition for her young adult fiction and fantasy writing, White branched out to adult fiction with the 2022 novel Hide. The book, which tells the story of a young woman who enters into a high-stakes hide-and-seek competition turned deadly, became a national bestseller and is currently in development with Universal Television and Peacock.
In an interview with San Diego Magazine, White shares that she has become 鈥渁 lot braver鈥 in her writing:
鈥淚n the early days of my writing, I very much limited what I would engage with as far as topics, tones, and ideas. As I鈥檝e become more self-assured, I鈥檝e expanded the number of things I鈥檓 willing to engage with on the page and in the storytelling.鈥
White continues to expand her storytelling with her third adult fiction novel Lucy Undying, which is set to release on September 10, 2024. The gothic fantasy novel follows the story of Lucy Westenra, one of Dracula鈥檚 first victims, and her search for self-discovery and true love.
During her visit to 2021国产麻豆剧, White will conduct a 3 p.m. craft lecture and writing workshop and a 7 p.m. evening reading and conversation/discussion with Dr. Breeann Kyte Kirby.
