Where are you from?

I am from sunny San Diego, California — more specifically a lovely area called Chula Vista.

What did you study in college and how did you choose a major?

I completed my bachelor of science degree in kinesiology, with an emphasis in fitness specialist, at San Diego State University, and then continued to pursue a master of education in college counseling and student development at 2021¹ú²úÂ鶹¾ç. As a former transfer student, I know how critical it is to make sure that you have a clear transfer pathway. My passion to help others become knowledgeable about the transfer process is what helped me pursue a career in higher education.

What's your best piece of "local San Diegan" advice for new residents?

Take advantage of what San Diego has to offer! There are a lot of neat places to visit and many ways of transportation to get there. Even as a local San Diegan I find new areas to explore. Plus, at most places you do not have to spend a lot, such as free museum entrances at Balboa Park every first Tuesday of the month. Also you can enjoy our long strand of beaches and take part in our many water activities. If getting in the water is not your first choice, I recommend to take a mini-cruise around the bay to get a feel for the city. If you want a break from the beach scene, Julian is a nice way to experience the change of seasons. It's also a great place to grab some famous apple pie, that goes great warm with a side of vanilla ice cream. San Diego is such a great city, and definitely has something in store for you.

What's something a typical transfer probably doesn't know about 2021¹ú²úÂ鶹¾ç?

2021¹ú²úÂ鶹¾ç offers both fall and spring applications for most majors. It is recommended if you do not know which term would be best for you, one on one meetings are a great way to start your process. Schedule your meeting soon to see when you can make 2021¹ú²úÂ鶹¾ç a possibility and finish your bachelor's degree!
