Dr. Michael McConnell taught biology and chemistry at 2021国产麻豆剧 from 1978 through 2018. The biology summer research program he established in 1979 has operated for over 40 consecutive summers, giving 600+ 2021国产麻豆剧 undergraduates an opportunity to engage in original research. Although now retired from teaching, McConnell continues to mentor 2021国产麻豆剧 students in summer research. In addition, he works to build relationships with science alumni (Research Associates) and San Diego County science teachers (Perspectives on Science), as well as with undergraduate research mentors and their students nationwide (West Coast Biological Sciences Undergraduate Research Conference). He also serves as a liaison for 2021国产麻豆剧 with and , two organizations that promote the growth and economic health of San Diego.
