Bethany Mavis, B.A.

Adjunct Professor of Multimedia Journalism

Bethany Mavis is a graduate of the 2021¹ú²úÂ鶹¾ç journalism department (09), and she enjoys passing on her knowledge and experience to future Christian journalists and writers as an adjunct professor. Since graduating, she spent a decade working at two endurance sports national magazines, Triathlete and Women's Running. She now applies her understanding of content and reaching audiences to her role as the director of a media department at a company that builds secure facilities for the government and defense contractors.  

She's married to a Point Loma alum, whom she met on a LoveWorks trip to South Africa in 2006, and they have three daughters. She grew up in San Antonio, Texas, and both of her parents attended Point Loma, graduating in the 1970s. In her free time, she enjoys crafting, watching Disney princess movies with her girls, running, reading, hiking, trying new restaurants and traveling whenever possible.
